Messaging program
Right Weather LLC is a Rhode Island private meteorology firm providing weather forecasting, forensic meteorology, and expert witness services to businesses, municipalities, and universities.
Authorized users at organizations that subscribe to Right Weather may opt in to receive SMS weather alert notifications - time-sensitive warnings and forecast updates for their forecast area. This program is offered only to existing subscribers. It is not available to the general public, and numbers are never purchased or imported from any outside source.
Consent to receive text messages is entirely optional. It is not required to create an account, make a purchase, or use the Right Weather portal or any Right Weather service. Portal access is provided through your organization's subscription, independent of text messaging. SMS consent is separate from, and not bundled with, our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy - reviewing or accepting those documents does not opt you in to text messages.
Opt-in happens on a dedicated public web form at rightwx.com/sms-signup. The user enters their mobile number and checks a consent box that is unchecked by default and requires affirmative action. No messages are sent unless the user checks the box and submits the form. Leaving the box unchecked declines messaging and does not affect access to any Right Weather service. The consent box reads:
This is the only opt-in path for this program. There is no keyword, paper, verbal, or QR-code opt-in.
Message frequency varies based on weather conditions and active alerts. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Right Weather does not sell, rent, or share mobile opt-in data or phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties for marketing under any circumstances. Mobile information is used solely to deliver the weather alerts the user has requested.
